Kanazawa Samurai Tour

Tour Overview

This guided 2–3 hour walking tour takes you through Kanazawa’s most iconic historic areas: the Nagamachi Samurai District, Kanazawa Castle, and Kenrokuen Garden.

First, we stroll through Nagamachi, where samurai once lived, walking along narrow lanes with earthen walls and canals while learning about samurai life, culture, and society. Those who wish may also visit the well-preserved Nomura Samurai Residence to see authentic exhibits and a traditional tea room (admission not included).

Next, we head to Kanazawa Castle, where you will learn about the history of the Maeda clan, its defensive structures, and distinctive stone walls.

Finally, we visit Kenrokuen, one of Japan’s three great gardens, where you can enjoy seasonal beauty and discover the meaning of its “Six Attributes of Beauty.”

The total walking distance is about 2.5–3 km. The tour is conducted at a relaxed pace with time for photos and short breaks.
